Do you struggle with staying motivated? I know I do, especially recently. With staying home all the time, I can’t find the motivation to keep going with my blog and it sucks. A lot of people struggle with staying motivated and that’s normal.
I tend to get big waves of motivation then a day or two later, nothing. But today, I am going to share with all of you how I stay motivated while working from home.
“provide (someone) with a reason for doing something”
Motivation can mean a lot of things but basically, you need to find something that pushes you to keep going.
A few things that help keep my motivated for working on my blog is:
-Seeing the number of monthly views go up every month
I LOVE seeing my numbers climb each month.
-I can make money from my blog
Making money is another thing that also pushes me to keep going. I love working on my blog regardless but the thought of making money from home, on my own schedule, is amazing.
how you can stay motivated
Finding the right support.
It is really hard to stay motivated when the people around you aren’t supportive of you. Finding the right people to have in your life is extremely important and can definitely help you stay more motivated when you’re struggling. You need to cut out the people in your life that are NOT supportive, they are dragging you down and keeping you from being the best version of yourself.
Rewarding yourself for completing a task/goal isn’t a bad thing at all. It help’s a lot of people to get motivated to complete their goals. You shouldn’t reward yourself after every single small task. Say you have a goal and you need to complete 5 smaller tasks before reaching your goal, reward yourself with something small about 50% into your tasks and then a bigger reward once you accomplish your goal! Rewards can vary depending on the goal you want to accomplish. If you need to get a huge project in for work by the end of the week, reward yourself with buying your favorite meal with dessert for example.
I have to do this a lot to get me to go the gym, especially because I have to stand in the cold waiting for my bus home haha. If I go to the gym 10 times a month, I will buy myself a new pair of workout leggings.
Having a more positive mindset.
Having a positive mindset is SO important to staying motivated. Being more positive can help you get through life more confidently and with ease. Start by saying positive affirmations in the mornings and evenings. After doing that a few times, you will already start to see a shift in your mindset.
I wrote a blog post about having a positive mindset and you can read it here: “How to Have a Positive Mindset”
I also wrote a blog post sharing affirmations and you an read that here: “30 Positive and Motivational Affirmations to Start Your Day”
Being stressed and worried about not having motivation to work is just going to make things a lot worse and more stressful for you. Trying to unwind at the end of everyday and not think about work past a certain time will help you relax and clear your mind. Which in turn will help you sleep better and then you will feel much more motivated the next day.
I wrote a blog post about how to relax and you can read it here: “50 Ways to Relax When You’re Stressed Out”

You need to be able to be patient when you start a new project, working from home, etc. Getting impatient can cause you to stress out for no reason. Understand that not everything can happen fast and right away, take your time to achieve your goal and you will be much happier when whatever task you’re doing is accomplished.
Create a vision board.
What is a vision board? This is a board of photo collages, quotes, inspiration etc. for your dreams and goals. Creating a vision board can help push you to accomplish your goals. There are 2 ways that you can create a vision board. You can make it completely digital. Save photos from Pinterest and/or Instagram and that way you have it anywhere you go to keep your mind on track. You can also create a real life vision board. Cut or print out pictures that relate to your goals/dreams and stick them on a poster board or in a notebook.
Things that kill motivation
Being inconsistent. Being inconsistent with anything isn’t good and definitely won’t help you stay motivated. One easy way to start being consistent with something is to start a morning and evening routine. Starting these routines will make it easy to start your day on a good note and end your evening feeling relaxed and ready for bed.
Not getting enough sleep. If you don’t get enough sleep you won’t be as productive and motivated the next day to work. It happens to me a lot because I can’t seem to find a place in my home to relax since I am here all day long. But trying to turn off and relax more at bedtime will help you fall into a deeper and more relaxed sleep.
Making difficult goals. A lot of people make goals for the new year (for example) and by the time February comes around, they are pushed off to the side. Why? People make the goals too difficult and then they give up.
I wrote a blog post about planning and achieving your goals and you can read it here: “How to Plan and Execute New Year’s Resolutions”
Being jealous of other people. Nothing can bring down your motivation like being jealous of someone else’s life. Don’t look at what other people are doing with their life. Focus on you and what you can be doing to stay motivated in life and make your life the best it can be.
